"360 - Ravenous RAM Reducer - Too FAT for My Skinny Netbook"

Good Day! I hope you're All enjoying a pleasant one. While looking for an Anti-Virus program for my Acer Aspire One Netbook w/2GB RAM (1.5GB Useable). I was looking for the AV program that would use the least amount of memory and resources. I am running Windows XP Home w/SP3. I have a simple system, and do simple tasks. I NEVER play Games, or visit Bizarre web sites, or anything like that. I believe that just about any of the popular reputable AV programs would work for me, and they all seem to update regularly and all that good stuff. Memory Usage is all I'm interested in comparing at the moment.

Again, I'm not comparing anything else at the moment. JUST memory usage. I'll compare other features, of whatever candidates I find afterwards. At the moment, I have found opinons regarding performance issues all over the place. and annoyingly argumentative. I'm not interested at the moment... JUST memory usage... and HERE in this Review. My findings about 360.

I installed 360 Internet Security with it's default settings.

After Installation I ran Task Manager and this is what I found in memory.

360rp.exe (30720k)

360Tray.exe (9108k

360sd.exe (1,164k)

ZhuDongFangYu.exe (9,816k)

TOTAL: 50,808K (50-51MB)

That's a lot of memory usage.

Here's the numbers for Celframe

Celframe Taskbar.exe 23,432

CelframeWin.exe 9,084

TOTAL = 32516k (32.5MB)

I believe Celframe's numbers are on the high side as well, comparatively speaking, and so I believe 360 to be a RAM Hog of great proportions.

I'm sure I'm going to find AV programs less RAM demanding than 360... or Celframe for that matter.

Here's a helpful article comparing a few AV programs with MSE, but it's using MSE as a benchmark without specifying Actual numbers regarding memory usage. I'm NOT using this article as THEE Word while conducting research. I just haven't found ANY articles that compare Actual Approximate RAM Usage numbers. But this article does give me a clue as to what's big and what's small.

https://windowssecrets.com/top-story/is-your-free-av-tool-a-resource-pig/

My next 2 stops will be MSE and Avast.

In Short, for My Review: I believe 360 to be Too Big for my RAM.
